چکیده

To enhance the contact between electrolyte (source of O2−) and carbon fuel in solid oxide–direct cells (SO-DCFCs), molten metals salts were used anode chamber. Oxygen ions can dissolve be transported medium to three-phase boundary reach oxidize particles. improve sluggish kinetics electrochemical oxidation carbon, same media act as redox mediators. Moreover, using a liquid metal/salt anode, tolerant impurities, negative effect contaminants on cell performance is mitigated. In this work, an overview SO-DCFCs with metals, carbonates, mixed metals/liquid carbonates chamber presented their was compared that conventional SO-DCFCs.

Application of infiltrated LSCM-GDC oxide anode in direct carbon/coal fuel cells.

Hybrid direct carbon/coal fuel cells (HDCFCs) utilise an anode based upon a molten carbonate salt with an oxide conducting solid electrolyte for direct carbon/coal conversion. They can be fuelled by a wide range of carbon sources, and offer higher potential chemical to electrical energy conversion efficiency and have the potential to decrease CO2 emissions compared to coal-fired power plants. I...

Evaluation of solid oxide fuel cell anode based on active triple phase boundary length and tortuosity

An efficient procedure is presented for the evaluation of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) anode microstructure triple phase boundary length (TPBL). Triple phase boundary- the one that is common between three phases of the microstructure- has a great influence on the overall efficiency of SOFC because all electrochemical reactions of anode take place in its vicinity. Therefore, evaluation of TP...

Transient studies of perovskite anode catalyst for a direct CH4 Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

Introduction: The direct use of CH4 as the feed to the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) will allow elimination of a reformer, simplifying the SOFC system and decreasing the system cost [1]. The overall reaction on the anode catalyst in the direct CH4 SOFC is the electrochemical oxidation of CH4: CH4 + 4O CO2 + 2H2O + 8e. Due to the nature of hydrocarbon reactions at high temperature and the reducin...

Importance of Anode Microstructure in Modeling Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

A one-dimensional button-cell model is developed and applied to explore the influence of anode microstructure on solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) performance. The model couples porous-media gas transport and elementary electrochemical kinetics within a porous Ni-YSZ cermet anode, a dense YSZ electrolyte membrane and a composite LSM-YSZ cathode. In all cases the fuel is humidified H2 and air is the ...
